Rotary switch series VENEZIA

Rotary switches are a relic of earlier times. However they are back in style, in a version for the now common flush mounting. With rotary switches, turning the light on becomes a concious act of switching the light on again - with an audible "click".

The switches from our VENEZIA series are produced by the traditional Spanish manufacturer FONTINI. We are the German distributor of their products.

The series is characterised by its wide range of variation. The switches and insets are available with covers in a variety of materials and surfaces. Thus you can combine the single elements to your liking and select "your" switch.

Materials and surfaces

Baseplate

The baseplate on which the rotary knob or toggle is fitted, is made of white or brown thermoset. It is embedded in the frame and closes flush.

Rotary knob or toggle

The rotary knobs or toggles are made of white porcelain, honey-coloured wood or brass - lacquered, nickel plated or chrome plated.

Cover frames

We offer different versions of cover frames:

• Porcelain"COLONIAL/VENEZIA", available in white or black, available as single-, double- or triple frames
• Beechwood "COLONIAL/VENEZIA" in 7 different surface finishes, available as single-, double-, triple- or fourfold frames
• Beechwood "CARRE" - rectangular- in 2 different surface finishes, available as single-, double-, triple- or fourfold frames
• Beechwood "TOSCANA" - softly rounded - in 2 different surface finishes, available as single-, double-, triple- or fourfold frames
• Brass "METAL" in 6 different surface finishes, available as single-, double-, triple- or fourfold frames

Variants - switches and pushbuttons

The rotary knobs or toggles are available with 3 diverse functionalities:

• Two way switch- if you want to control one light from 1 to 2 places
• Crossing switch - if you want to control one light from a third place
• Series circuit switch - if you want to turn on two lights with one switch (one after another or side by side with toggles)

We also offer turn switches in the same design. In this connection, the rotary knob goes back to the starting position after the rotational movement (spring-return button). The functionality is the same as with the pushbutton.

Buttons are generally used, when you want to operate from a minimum of 3 locations for example in staircases or long hallways. In contrast to the cross-connect this installation requires an impulse switch (relay), the wiring and the design of the switch is simpler. Instead of the latching relay, a staircase time switch (time relay) can be used.

Variants - sockets

For our VENEZIA series we offer two variants of sockets:

German Schuko-sockets or sockets with centre contact for the french electrical system (F); both either made of white or brown thermoset.

Option - surface installation

If you want to use the switches from our VENEZIA series for surface installation, we are happy to provide a (rust coloured, painted or zinc plated) double junction box, suitable for the tubes from our GARBY series

VDE certification

All switches and sockets comply to the standards required in Germany. They meet the strict safety regulations of the VDE.

Usually we have small quantities of switches, sockets and frames in stock. Please consider a lead time of 3 weeks, if is not available.

Mounting instructions

All insets are delivered on mounting plates and fit the commercially available, standard wall outlets.

Please note that all installation work on electrical installations must be carried out by a qualified electrician. We cannot accept any liability for damages due to incorrect mounting.
