Tumbler switch Series DIMBLER - intermediate switch - without cable inlet - white / toggle chrome-plated

The classic toggle switches from our DIMBLER series, are often found in France and England to this day. Their soft shape and the delicate toggle significantly sets them apart from other electric switches. With DIMBLER switches it is possible to place particular emphasis on your interior design.

Material and surface

The switch system GARBY is produced by the traditional Spanish manufacturer FONTINI. We are the German distributor of their products.

The carcase is made of porcelain. Porcelain has always been a favoured material in electrical engineering: Porcelain has crystal clear aesthetics, a pleasant feel and very good insulating properties.

Alternatively, the switches are also available with a brass cover. We offer different surface finishes :

• gold coloured brass
• bronze coloured brass
• matt nickel-plated brass

• gold coloured brass
• bronze coloured brass
• chrome-plated brass

Variants - switches and pushbuttons

The toggle switches are available with 2 different functionalities:

• Two way switch- if you want to control one light from 1 to 2 places
• Crossing switch - if you want to control one light from a third place

Buttons are generally used, when you want to operate from a minimum of 3 locations. In contrast to the cross switch this installation requires an impulse switch (relay), the wiring and the design of the switch is simpler. Instead of the latching relay, a staircase time switch (time relay) can be used.

Mounting

Surface installation

For surface installation we recomend using wooden base plates. These are made of beechwood and available in three different surface finishes:

• natural, unpainted
• painted, honey coloured
• aged, painted dark tarnish

Flush mounting

Please note that if you decide to flush mount the switches, it is impossible to put the switches on standard sockets. The diameter of the switch it too small. However, you can combine this switch with the wooden frames of the series GARBY (without cable outlet) or you can put them on frames of the series VENEZIA. For this you will need an additional adapter plate that must be ordered separately.

Installation without base plates or frame is easily made at front-wall installations.

If you have not installed any standard sockets, it may be possibly to work with the smaller light junction boxes and the switches can be mounted directly onto the wall. Please clarify this in advance with your electrician.

Variants with or without cable outlet

The porcelain carcase of the DIMBLER switch has a small semi-circular opening for cable entry at the bottom. If you want to realise flush-mounted fitting of the switch, you must order the switch without cable outlet.

Delivery time

We usually have small quantities of sockets and switches in stock. Please consider a lead time of 3 weeks for substantial order quantities.

Mounting instructions

The interior is fitted with 2 screws on the wall or wooden base plate, wired, then the housing is placed and screwed.
